To launch Optus’ 5G capabilities, we wanted to do something that would capture everyone’s attention while also helping demystify public confusion around what 5G actually does – not years from now, but immediately in everyday life. We took the letter ‘S’ in the OPTUS logo and changed it to a ‘5’, creating a new and ownable 5G logo for the campaign: OPTU5G. And built a simple structure for the films that used character groups of five - that begin with the letter “G” – 5Geniuses, 5Grannies, 5Guitarists and 5Game Characters. Each explained a different benefit of the new technology, playfully. This structure also came to life to form headlines in OOH, digital and social.
